MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 26TH. This year’s Moscow Bar Show is the second annual gathering of the biggest spirits producers and distributors as well as the bartenders and the party crowd. MBS is actually a part of the much bigger food exhibition called PIR and already attracted a huge amount of visitors during the first couple of days. Held on the outskirts of Moscow in CROCUS Expo trading center it still has a lot to improve, but the increasing popularity of the event is visible without special equipment. Moscow bartenders has a place to show their skills and the growing popularity of cocktail theme is obvious.

Dominated by bigger international companies like Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Brown Forman, William Grant & Sons, Bacardi and smaller ones like Whyte & Mackay it shows clearly the market segmentation between the spirits producers. Vodka producers like Russian Standard, Myagkov and Beluga are also very present. Remy Cointreau is pouring cognac in cocktails and trying to reintroduce the category to the younger drinkers. A number of seminars and master-classes is held throughout the Show bringing a huge practical and sensual experience to the Moscow bartender crowd.

Seems that the cocktail topic is the thing capable to ignite interest in the traditional spirits categories like whisky, vodka, cognac and gin. It will continue through September the 27th. http://mbs.pir.ru
